The first international bilateral meeting between Iran University Press and the Cultural Counselor of India was held on January 29, 1404, with the aim of reviewing and developing scientific, cultural, and publishing cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting was held in a positive, constructive, and forward-looking atmosphere, with the presence of Dr. Amir Masoud Shahramnia, Director of the University Press and Professor Balram Shukla, Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of India in Tehran. The meeting was dedicated to examining the capacities and common areas of cooperation in the field of academic publishing, the exchange of scientific works, the translation of specialized texts, and cooperation with reputable Indian universities and publications. During this meeting, Dr. Shahramnia, emphasizing the scientific status and role of Iran University Press as a reference in the country’s higher education system, announced the University Press readiness to create common platforms for cooperation with reputable Indian universities, research Presss, and publishers, and emphasized the importance of developing sustainable scientific and publishing cooperation between Iran and India.
In contrast, Professor Balram Shukla, welcoming this approach, emphasized the necessity of strengthening bilateral scientific, cultural, and publishing relations and utilizing the common capacities of the two countries, especially in the fields of written heritage, language, and cultural studies.
Among the topics raised in this meeting were cooperation in the field of joint publishing, translation of scientific works, exchange of books and academic resources, and design of joint projects with reputable Indian universities and scientific institutions. The parties also exchanged views on the initial preparations for defining the implementation mechanisms of these cooperations and the continuation of bilateral discussions.
This meeting can be considered a step towards internationalizing the activities of Iran University Press and strengthening scientific and cultural diplomacy between the Islamic Republic of Iran and India; a path that could lead to the conclusion of cooperation agreements and the implementation of joint scientific and publishing projects in the future.
