This specialized seminar provides a comprehensive historical and documented analysis of the name “Persian Gulf” from antiquity to the present day. The presentation will explore historical evidence ranging from Achaemenid inscriptions, Greek and Latin texts, and Islamic-era Persian and Arabic sources, to historical cartography and official United Nations documents. We will examine the geographical, historical, and legal evidence supporting the continuous and authentic use of the name “Persian Gulf” in international treaties, maps, and official correspondences.
